I really enjoyed this diary entry as it both humanizes Dr. Burch and lends a sense of time to when the diaries were written. By clearly stating his attitude towards screen artists, that they have "low moral standard[s]", our Burch gives us a glimpse of how he actually views others around him--something uncharacteristic among the countless diary entries he fills detailing his golf scores.

Additionally, the mention of Lew Cody being a movie led me to do some additional research. In doing so, I found out that Lew Cody was actually a quite prominent silent film actor whose personal life is commonly characterized by his three marraiges--something which is backed up by our Burch in this case.
